CYBER INVENTION CURRICULUM

The Tharaka Invention Academy Cyber Curriculum uses a framework that follows steps we’ll take in the invention process. It includes introductory courses to help students get started. It also introduces students to entrepreneurial concepts to get them thinking about what happens beyond the invention process. This curriculum framework includes the following:

0) Accelerate an Innovative Mindset – Help students connect Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) and other core subjects to real-world applications through an interdisciplinary online curriculum that accelerates development of 21st-century skills.
1) History – The background and significance inventions have had in human civilizations.
2) Identifying – Becoming aware of problems in one’s life or community.
3) Understanding – Conducting research to identify a unique solution. The theory of inventive problem solving.
4) Intellectual Property – Patent, copyright, trademark, commercializing an invention.
5) Ideation – Developing a project plan for the invention.
6) Introduction to design tools and methods
7) Invent – With the problem identified, go about solving it by creating something useful.
8) Analysis – Introduction to Analysis tools and methods. Discovering the inherent parameters and limits in the successful design.
9) Designing – Deciding how to make the invention.
10) Building – Constructing a prototype.
11) Testing – Seeing how the invention works and revising the design as needed.
12) Communicating – Writing about the invention and presenting it to others.

WHAT IS IN A COURSE

Each training package provides video lectures, slides, course guides, cases, assignments and other relevant materials. Training is based on the individual assignments performed by a course participant, evaluation, and individual interactive feedback. All what is needed is a broadband access to the Internet.
