THARAKA INVENTION CIRCLE CBO 2023 SUCCESS STORY
Tharaka Invention Circle CBO has undergone a transformative journey in 2023, fostering impactful collaborations with notable NGOs including CRAWN TRUST, CorpsAfrica/Kenya, Women Economic Enterprise, Pelum Kenya, the County Government of Tharaka Nithi, and local administrations. This year’s initiatives encompassed a spectrum of activities aimed at empowering women and young individuals through innovation and skill-building.
The CBO, in alliance with its partners, actively engaged in community-focused events such as races and tree planting, advocating for environmental conservation and addressing climate change. Notably, these efforts led to the successful planting of over 400 trees, a testament to their commitment to sustainable practices. Simultaneously, their advocacy extended to economic empowerment through targeted training programs for groups like the Keega Women Group and the Ntharene Women Group.
The CBO’s multi-faceted approach included practical training sessions on liquid soap making, providing women with valuable skills for economic empowerment and contributing to elevated hygiene standards in the community. Additionally, seedbed preparation training initiatives were implemented to enhance food security, reflecting a holistic commitment to community well-being.
Looking forward, Tharaka Invention Circle CBO, through its Director Miss Miriam Muthoni, aspires to broaden its impact by establishing more partnerships with organizations, county governments, and local administrations. This collaborative vision underscores their dedication to advocacy, training, capacity building, and innovation as vehicles for empowering individuals and communities.
