Top 7 Most Beautiful FEMALE African Dances

I really wanted to share this with Friends, Family, and Followers. The example I like most is from Kenya, and YES Chakacha Dance is dope! I’ve seen the ladies dance. Fun!

1. Chakacha Dance.
Chakacha is a traditional music and dance style of the Swahili people of coastal Kenya and Tanzania, originally associated with weddings and performed and watched by women. The women dress in very light, transparent clothing and have a belt around their waists for ease of movement. Tanzanian ladies, especially around the coastal areas, are very good at this hip-swaying dance.

2. The South Sudan Leaping Dance
This dance is very common among South Sudan’s tribes, notably the Dinka and Nuer. It typically involves rhythmic jumping up and down with the legs close together, either individually or more commonly in groups. Often, the dancer will be holding a stick upright as they dance. These sticks symbolize cattle horns. The dance is designed in such a way that the tall, slender bodies of the South Sudanese ladies are more emphasized.

3. Sabar Drum Dance.
The sabar is a dance form of the Wolof people living mainly in parts of Senegal and the Gambia. The dancing is accompanied by drumming, which is referred to by the same name. Sabar dancing takes place in social dance events that may be organized to celebrate almost any kind of occasion, from marriages to political gatherings. The dancing in these events usually takes the form of very short improvised solos, and it is the duty of the drum soloist to follow the movements of the dancer.

4. Arso Oromo Dance
The dance in particular is known as the “Shoa Oromo”, or Oromo head twisting. It features fast and sharp movements of the head and neck, which create the whipping illusion. This dance has a unique costume as well as steps. Women wear leather-made wild two-piece costumes decorated with shells. The unique feature of the dance is the violent shaking of the head and shoulders by the performers. The songs that are played during the dance usually give more emphasis to string instruments than drum beats.
5. Eskista
Eskista is a traditional cultural dance of the Amhara ethnic group in Ethiopia, performed by men, women, and children. It’s known for its unique emphasis on intense shoulder movement, which it shares with the shim-shim dance of the Tigrinya people in neighbouring Eritrea. The dance is characterized by rolling and bouncing the shoulders, jilting the chest, and thrusting the neck in various directions. The complex nature of Eskista dancing is what makes it arguably one of the most technical forms of traditional dance. Just like many dances in this list , the beauty of the dance is exemplified more beautifully by women.

6. Ukusina, South Africa.
Ukusina is a Zulu women’s dance performed in South Africa during Umemulo, the women’s coming of age ceremony. As well as joining in traditional singing and dancing, the dance is an opportunity to school the girls in their culture, and they promote celibacy until marriage and teach the girls respect for their bodies. The dance involves the enthusiastic throwing of the foot in the air, followed by stomping it on the ground by a solo dancer, with the other dancers clapping and singing.

7. Soukous, Congo.
Ndombolo is a Congolese dance style with many different variations. It mainly involves swaying of the hips and the waist, while at the same time moving your legs rhythmically to Soukous music. This is a very old dance that gained prominence in the seventies and has managed to transcend Congolese borders into many countries in Africa, including Kenya. The dance can be danced by both men and women, but the true beauty of the dance is more apparent when danced by women.
