OUT WITH THE OLD

Prof. Singer and Deputy Director Miriam Muthoni are establishing a local Invention School in Kenya and will enroll selectively and evenly chosen local boys and girls to attend as apprentice inventors. The learning regimen is described in the table below and is structured to develop five qualities necessary in a successful inventor: 

  1. Collaboration skills
  2. Ability to effectively communicate in multiple modalities
  3. Ability to think critically and clearly in problem solving
  4. Demonstrate higher than usual creativity in developing new inventions
  5. Demonstrate strong ability to cooperate with others to achieve singular or mutual goals

An effectively trained inventor or problem solver will need to master five fundamental skills.
