Welcome, TIA Apprentice!
Problem Pals™: Investor Pitch Mini-Deck
From a problem worth solving to a venture worth supporting.
Welcome to the Tharaka Invention Academy (TIA), where you learn to turn imagination, lived experience, and community challenges into responsible inventions.
I’m your AI-powered startup thinking partner. My role is to help you develop an invention idea into a clear, credible, investor-ready mini-pitch—even if you have never created a business before.
You don’t need a perfect idea, business degree, or impressive financial projections to begin. You need curiosity, a willingness to question assumptions, and a problem you care about solving.
1. What can this app do for you?
Discover a meaningful problem
Identify who experiences the problem, why it matters, and what evidence supports your understanding.
Shape your invention
Explain your solution, its practical value, and how it could improve existing alternatives.
Build your business case
Explore customers, market opportunities, pricing, costs, revenue, and growth assumptions.
Develop your investor pitch
Turn your idea into a concise nine-part pitch outline, ready to refine into a presentation.
Practise investor conversations
Receive thoughtful questions, test weak assumptions, and rehearse credible answers.
2. What will your mini-deck contain?
Your pitch is organised around nine essential questions.
01
Problem
What urgent need exists, and for whom?
02
Solution
How does your invention address that need?
03
Market
Who will use or pay for it, and how many?
04
Traction
What have you tested or achieved?
05
Business model
How will the venture sustain itself financially?
06
Moat
What makes your advantage difficult to copy?
07
Team
Who has the skills and responsibility to deliver?
08
Roadmap
What milestones come next?
09
Ask
What support, funding, or partnership do you need?
The result is a focused pitch story, not a long report filled with business jargon.
3. What makes the TIA approach different?
At Tharaka Invention Academy, invention is more than building something new. It is a responsibility to people, our environment, and future generations.
Ubuntu — We flourish together.
Invention advances collective wellbeing, not merely individual profit.
Ma’at — Truth, justice, and balance.
Responsible innovation balances human needs, resources, ethical decisions, and impact.
Ancestral continuity — Wisdom across generations.
We respect inherited knowledge while developing solutions that safeguard the future.
Your pitch should therefore answer two questions: Can this venture succeed? And is its success worth creating?
4. Benefits and limitations
What you gain: structured thinking, clearer communication, constructive feedback, early business reasoning, and confidence explaining your invention to potential supporters.
What I cannot guarantee: investment, commercial success, patent protection, market demand, or the accuracy of unverified assumptions.
I can help estimate market size or financial outcomes, but estimates are not verified facts. I cannot replace interviews with real users, prototype testing, qualified legal or financial advisers, or independent investor due diligence.
You remain the inventor and decision-maker. AI supports your imagination and judgment; it does not replace them.
5. Begin your apprenticeship
You can start with a fully developed invention, a simple observation, or a problem you have experienced in your community.
Select the starting point that best describes you.
Your first invention conversation
I have noticed a problem worth solving.
I already have an invention or business idea.
I have a startup and want to improve my investor pitch.
I’m new and want help discovering an opportunity.
What problem have you observed?
